Kirandeep Gill holds a bachelor's degree in Health Sciences from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and a master's degree in Epidemiology from Utrecht University. During her master's thesis, she studied the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in breast cancer screening. Specifically, she focused on validating a mammography-based AI model to identify women with extremely dense breasts who are at highest short-term risk of developing breast cancer and may benefit from supplemental MRI screening. As a PhD student, she works on the FLUID2 project. This project focuses on health-economic modeling to optimize follow-up care for patients with HPV-positive oropharyngeal cancer. Her research aims to evaluate the use of liquid biopsies for detecting cancer recurrence and to assess different follow-up strategies to improve patient outcomes and support efficient care.
